About us

Our History and Mission

Established in 2019, the Foundation channels the spirit of the late poet, Felix Dennis, to champion modern-day poets and writers. We share a mission to advocate and promote public appreciation of literary arts throughout the world.

Felix penned his first poem on a Post-It note aged 54, setting into motion a 13-year love affair with the written word. His love of poetry culminated in nearly 2000 poems and 11 poetry collections and was only matched by his passion for trees.

Far more than being a famous magazine publisher with a storied history, Felix was an immensely generous soul and it is fitting that his legacy serves to promote the poets, writers and artists supported by the Foundation.

'His poetry sings like a summer breeze through fairground.'
- Sir Paul McCartney
'Felix Dennis is the real thing. I love reading his verse and you will, too.'
- Stephen Fry
'Marvellous stuff... the best poet writing in the English language.'
- Tom Wolfe
'He writes the most profound poetry about the most simple natural things'
- Benjamin Zephaniah
'The uncrowned Poet Laureate... he writes in the language of the soul.'
- Christopher Rush
'He is the very essence of English poetry - lyrical, rhythmic, emotional.'
- Jon Snow
